camera circuits

Every year, homeowners from all over the nation install home alarms and beef up their home security in order to ward off potential threats. They update their door locks, trim the surrounding growth that impedes views and install motion sensor lights outside of the house. Many even pay monthly fees to alarm companies to guarantee that their houses are being monitored and watched over if something were to ever occur. In fact, many of these alarm companies are able to detect fires and carbon monoxide leaks in homes, allowing them to notify the authorities of any potential emergency.
What is surprising, however, is how little many people know how this advanced, secure technology works. Many people just rely on blind faith, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but demonstrates that the consumer is uneducated. If somebody is going to invest a ton of money into securing the home and protecting their loved ones, it would make sense for them to spend a little bit of time knowing how the systems actually operate.
Although most home alarm systems are pretty easy to explain, utilizing pressure sensors or magnetic/electrical circuits to detect forced and uninvited entry, other more specific types of systems such as glass break sensors are a bit more complicated. So, in order to advance the knowledge of what is protecting the home, let’s analyze the alarms catered specifically for windows.
Known in the security world as “audio discriminators,” glass break detectors operate as a home alarm system specializing in windows and glass. They operate by listening to specific sound frequencies and can normally cover a 35-foot radius. Therefore, placing one in a room with many windows – and accessible points of entry for a burglar – is the best way to correctly utilize them. Additionally, they come in two varieties: single technology and duel technology, both offering advantages and disadvantages.
Single technology glass detectors listen specifically for the sounds of wood splintering and glass breaking. So, if a burglar were to break a window to enter a home, the detector would hear the frequency and sound the alarm. However, the frequencies can sometimes be mimicked by other, non-threatening things such as lightning striking or glasses clanking together, which in turn would signal the alarm. Yet, although this design flaw does exist, these detectors tend to be a lot cheaper than the duel technology ones.
Unlike their counterparts, the duel technology detectors operate using the same frequencies of splintering wood or breaking glass, except that they also listen for a thud before sounding. They pick up an additional frequency that signals a point of impact and can thus distinguish between a robber prying open a window to enter – a thud sound followed by splintering wood, since a crowbar would more than likely be used – and a couple toasting champagne glasses to celebrate an anniversary. So, false alarms would not be triggered. However, as said before, these models are a bit more expensive.
So, now that glass detector alarm technology alarm is explained, consumers can now make much more educated guesses. Because when it comes to home security, no one can know too much.
Glass break detectors are just one of the many security systems available to protect the home. With adt security, you can rest assured that your loved ones and valuables are safe and sound.
