Millions of speeding are issued each year in the UK and it is believed that nearly two million to accelerate the fines have been issued unjustly. The number of speeding fines vary widely across the country, there are more speed cameras in cities and on some stretches of highway, but motorists tend to drive faster on the open road.

Of the 38 English counties, 34 made more than  £ 1 million speeding fines in 2007. The counties with the highest incomes to issue drivers for speeding were Thames Valley, which has more than  £ 8 million and London, which has raised more than  £ 6 million. With over 6000 radars the United Kingdom, it could simply be that drivers of these areas are more likely to exceed the speed limit. However, especially in large cities, where driving can be stressful and erratic, there are also likely to be finer accelerated appeals in these areas, if only because the number of speeding tickets issued is greater.

In London, for example, and the rapidly growing area of Thames Valley drivers must pay attention not only for speed cameras, but also for police radar and police patrols. The stress of driving in areas with heavy traffic can often lead to drivers making mistakes or losing concentration, something which could land a speeding fine. Although these cities receive a high amount of revenue from speeding, if you think you have been issued a speeding fine so unjust, it is certainly worth considering an appeal.
