How to handle a camera?

For a Nikon L18 digital camera. Something that could fit into the hole where the tripod will. Maybe wood. And cheap. Or where to find a cheap one? No Ebay.

It is a wireless standard, you can buy a bolt that form. You should be able to find a bolt that was also a wood screw on the other end. A short pin with a hole drilled to a end of the wood screws and voila, you have a grip! Now, why in the world would you do that?
